My central government client has a number of strategic Programmes and Projects that are delivering critical capability to a secure area of law enforcement. These require the delivery of new national capabilities and services to provide identified business benefits whilst ensuring existing critical national capability and support to business operations are maintained.


The role will be required to support either general administration or support specific Project and Functional Teams eg: Communications and Stakeholder Management, Issues Management, Project Administration, Resource Management all critical to successful programme delivery.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
a. Experience of working as a Project or Programme Office Administrator within a complex project and political environment involving multiple disciplines (eg: Business Change, IT, Estates)
b. Experience of working within a Programme/Project Management Office structure, to defined methodologies and standards, ideally using PRINCE2 and MSP
c. Understanding and experience of Programme/Project administration, PMO functions and their management

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
a. Ability to provide an effective administrative capability
b. Ability to produce high quality documentation
c. Ability to operate in a complex organisational and political environment
d. Ability to communicate with, influence and build relationships with stakeholders and staff across the operations, professional boundaries and, with partner organisations
e. Ability to co-ordinate a variety of activities as required
f. High degree of computer literacy and competence in the use of Microsoft Office (ideally intermediate skills with Word, Excel PowerPoint, Visio and basic skills with Project)
g. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with the user community at all levels, to participate in meetings, and clarify areas of vagueness where required.

DESIRABLE:
a. Experience of working in Programmes and Projects within the public sector
b. Experience of working within complex Programmes and Projects, involving multiple stakeholders and teams, as part of a dynamic environment
c. Experience in the use of the MS Project and MS Visio
d. Knowledge of stakeholder management and engagement
e. Experience in any of the following programme management functions would be highly advantageous:
o Change Control
o Issues Management
o Programme Communications
o Programme Planning
o Project Administration
o Reporting and Governance

o Resource Management
o Board Secretariat
