The Agency was established on 1 July 2012 as part of a NATO reform, but its predecessors have been supporting Allied operations long before. Today, NATO is in the midst of a fundamental transformation in the way it performs its mission by more effectively exploiting information technology and reforming its business processes.
We acquire, deploy and defend communications systems for NATO's political decision-makers and Commands; we are on the frontlines against cyber-attacks, working closely with governments and industry to prevent future debilitating attacks

LA International has been appointed as a Prime supplier to the NCI Agency through the Advisory and Assistance Services Framework (A&AS), a contract that enables them to call off Project / Programme Management, Administration & HR, Commercial, ICT, Scientific, Engineering, and Military functional expertise in order to support essential NATO operations.

Requirement Description
As Systems Engineer, the incumbent will work Cyber Security Operations and Maintenance team, providing Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to support the continual availability and improvement of NATOs global Cyber Defense systems, carrying out system implementation tasks across multiple work threads providing both operational support and project implementation activities. The Systems Engineer reports to the Head, Platform and Infrastructure Management Section and will work with engineers within Infrastructure Branch.
Main responsibilities, but are not limited to the following:
*Carry out configuration and administration of systems and security technologies;
*Support the Initiation, preparation, follow-up and defence of the specialist applications upgrades in front of the Change Management Board;
*Provide SME to impact evaluations and proposed solutions for NCIRC Change Requests;
*Development of systems engineering artefacts, including documentation to support the delivery and maintenance of system solutions;
*Provide software and hardware auditing to ensure compliance with NCIA policies and directives;
*Initiate, define and develop secure solutions ensuring the availability and continuity of services for the complete NCIRC core CIS.
Skills and Experience
Essential to have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science combined with a minimum of 5 years' experience as Systems Engineer or similar position, or a Secondary education and completed advanced vocational education (loading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation) with 7 years post related experience, with demonstrated experience in following areas:
Mandatory
*Expert level of experience
*Complex TCP/IP based secure network infrastructure;
*Configuration and support of firewall devices;
*Central VPN installation, maintenance and troubleshooting with IDS and Firewall technologies
*Supporting intrusion detection systems / intrusion prevention systems;
*Development, enhancement and implementation of security settings relating to any of Cisco, Linux, Unix, Microsoft operating systems
*Enterprise Management Systems such as SCCM, MS WSUS, ePO, Nimsoft
High level of experience
*Virtualization techniques and technologies;
*Demonstrable experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical infrastructure and system problems;
*Standard office automation tools (MS Office Professional);
*Complex and secure Microsoft based multisegment TCP/IP network infrastructure including Active Directory and MS Server 2003 - 2019 operating systems and associated services and hardware;
*Deployment and support of Microsoft IIS and SharePoint Server/MOSS Infrastructures;
*MS Exchange and message systems including content filtering technologies and mail Anti-Malware applications, McAfee EPO and VirusScan Application;
*Back-up software and applications, Symantec BackupExec, Veritas NetBackup;
*Deployment and support virtual environment architectures and tools;
*Network Management and Monitoring tools such as SolarWinds.
Desirable
*Industry leading certification in the area of Cybersecurity such as CISSP, CISM, MCSE/S, CISA, GSNA, SANS GIAC.
*A solid understanding of Information Security Practices; relating to the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of information (CIA triad.)
*Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements
