Network designer GIS- Junior
Description:
In the context of the roll-out of the fibre network for our customers, it is essential to have a high-performance and cost efficient network. This network is designed with the latest applications, which ensure that we can design such optimized networks in a limited time.
Your tasks consist specifically of creating and checking network designs, constantly evolving the tools used and optimising the input data used.
- You make sure that the necessary input data is available to be able to make the designs. This data can come from a variety of sources; eg GRB, URBIS, PICC, databases, street survey data, ...
- You monitor the data quality of this input needed to make the design routines work
- You know the design rules that are applied in the routines
- You check the calculated designs
You use tools and algorithms that are used within geographical design tools (typical GIS applications, e.g. QGIS)
Master's degree
Experience with GIS tools (QGIS, ArcGIS, ...) And programming in a GIS environment (Python, FME) Experience in processing large amounts of data (big data) and with experience in monitoring data quality within such an environment Knowledge of building a network (fiber/copper) or having experience within the telcom world is a plus
