Job Description for Senior DevOps Engineer - SC Cleared
Key Outcomes & Responsibilities
Infrastructure Design & Operations:
Architect and manage cloud environments (AWS or equivalent) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform. Ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience of platforms.
CI/CD Pipeline Ownership:
Security & Governance:
Monitoring & Observability:
Collaboration & Leadership:
Essential Skills (Must Have)
* Infrastructure as Code: Expertise in Terraform or equivalent and automated provisioning.
* Cloud Platforms: Strong experience with AWS services or equivalent and governance.
* Containerization & Orchestration: Proficiency in Kubernetes and Docker.
* CI/CD Expertise: Advanced knowledge of GitLab, Jenkins, or similar tools.
* Security Practices: Deep understanding of secure DevOps principles and cloud security.
* Problem-Solving & Reliability Engineering: Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and design resilient systems.
Experience Profile
* Significant experience in DevOps roles with proven delivery of cloud-native solutions.
* Hands-on leadership in designing and operating secure, scalable platforms.
* Track record of mentoring and coaching engineers.
* Experience in hybrid UK-based delivery environments.
Desirable Skills (Nice to Have)
* Scripting & Automation: Strong skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
* Networking & Performance Tuning: Knowledge of cloud networking and optimization.
* Agile Delivery: Experience in agile, product-led environments.
* Observability Tools: Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
