Business Analyst (People Master Data Review) - Hybrid - IR35 Determination TBC
You will play a key role in developing data dictionaries, analysing data flows, assessing data quality, and establishing governance processes for sensitive people data.
The position is ideal for an experienced Business Analyst with strong data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and master data management expertise.
The key responsibility is to work as part of a client lead team with experience working as a Business Analyst on data centric projects including personal data. The next step is to build out the data dictionary and mapping, covering what the data is, where it is used, known quality issues, and what validation or assurance may be needed.
Business Analyst (People Master Data Review) Responsibilities
Develop and maintain comprehensive data dictionaries across multiple people data domains.
Define business data elements, ownership, source systems, and data lineage.
Map people data across systems, business processes, and reporting functions.
Document end-to-end data flows and identify dependencies and inconsistencies.
Assess data quality issues and recommend remediation activities.
Define validation rules and support the implementation of data assurance processes.
Facilitate workshops with People Leadership, HR teams, and business stakeholders.
Produce high-quality documentation, reports, and recommendations for senior leadership.
Support governance activities and drive continuous improvement of people data management.
Business Analyst (People Master Data Review) Skills and Experience
Proven experience as a Business Analyst delivering data-focused initiatives.
Must have worked with Personal Data (GDPR).
Must have data dictionaries experience.
Strong experience with Master Data Management (MDM), metadata, and data lineage.
Experience performing data mapping, data quality assessments, and remediation planning.
Experience working with HR, People, or other sensitive business data.
Strong stakeholder management skills with experience engaging senior leadership teams.
Experience facilitating workshops and gathering complex business requirements.
Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Knowledge of data governance frameworks desirable.
Experience with HR systems such as Workday, SAP HR, or similar would be advantageous.
Experience within large enterprise or regulatory environments desirable.
Working within the retail or food distribution industry would be a distinct advantage but not essential.
