DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Execute day-to-day administration of Communication and Information Systems (CIS) including but not limited to:
­- Administration of Microsoft Windows Active Directory and Linux services, user/group accounts, access permissions, DNS, DHCP, File and Print services, based on Microsoft Windows Server and RedHat Enterprise Linux.
­- Status checks of backup system.
­- Timely provisioning and maintenance of server software ranging from standard office automation software to specialised applications including custom software applications.

Essential Skills include:
* A minimum of 4 years recent post-related experience.
* A vocational training at higher technical level in a relevant discipline, or equivalent.
* Demonstrated ability to support deployed work (e.g. at sea), with limited access to land-based supporting infrastructures, adhering to standard operating procedures and exercising judgement to handle to evolving situations in a balanced way, meeting requirements while safeguarding systems security.
* Service minded attitude with a strong interest in working directly with users.
* Good troubleshooting skills.
* Detailed knowledge and working experience of Microsoft Windows Server and Linux (RedHat and Ubuntu)
* Detailed knowledge of TCP/lP and directory services such as Active Directory, DNS and DHCP.
* Experience with virtualization technologies, such as Vmware.
* Knowledge and working experience with Active Directory and Centrify.

Desirable Skills:
* Knowledge and experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration.
* Experience implementing security controls (e.g. NCIRC)
* Experience with any of the following technologies: VMware, Cisco Networking, EMC SAN.
* Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements.
