* Accountable for leading the delivery of project(s), programme or portfolio that are large, complex and represent significant benefit / risk to our customers. The delivery will be highly visible and recognisable.
* Responsible for the management of legacy network closure projects where we will be migrating customers from non IP products & services to new IP based products & services
* Responsible for ensuring that all Enterprise customers who have non IP products and services are migrated before the closure date of the network or exchange
* Responsible for supporting all the sub legacy network and customers projects that are delivered from that exchange or network
* Working with the Planning and Scheduling managers to build and then onward manage the migrations and dealing with all exceptions that occur
* Working with Openreach to support their programmes through the prioritisation of activities and closure dates.
* Accountable for building complex matrix delivery organisation consisting of a mixture of dedicated and shared resources. These resources will be Project Management, other internal specialists and external third parties.
* Act as a customer champion. Establishes customer needs, uses operational and technical expertise to deliver brilliant experiences by resolving customer issues and delivery quality and timeliness. Understanding the customer business context and the impacts the programme has on successful business outcomes
* Accountable for delivering projects to contracted service levels.
* Accountable for setting / agreeing a significant delivery budget and ensuring that costs do not exceed this.
* Accountable for customer satisfaction associated with delivery.
* Accountable for identifying and managing changes in scope - ensuring the appropriate governance is applied.
* Accountable for building a comprehensive governance structure with relevant customers, client service managers account team and the programme team. Taking responsibility for leading the development of the appropriate plans and controls to ensure successful delivery.
* Accountable for ensuring that the solution (and other deliverables) are of the right quality and accepted by the customer.
* Accountable for ensuring that defined methodologies, processes and tools are consistently applied across the projects in scope, in-line with the overall standards set by the PMO.
* Manages project risk for customers with an ability to use and adapt recognised project management methods and processes depending on elements of the risk profile and governance needs.
* Ensures the PMO and resourcing functions have clear line of sight of upcoming demand and contract requirements.
* Works in collaboration with the Client Services teams to ensure consistent delivery to customers.
* Provide direction to the team on requirements, scope, timescale, cost constraints and quality expectations.
* Accountable for mobilising the project, programme or portfolio.
Skills required for the job
* Highly-developed project management skills with experience of delivering solutions to Enterprise customers
* Able to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders (at C/Director level) to collaborate and carry out the functions of the role. Maintain close connection and strong relationships with key stakeholders in the operation of project delivery
* Highly analytical and structured, with ability to manage complexity
* Great attention to detail and willingness to work within a fast paced and demanding environment
* High degree of personal resilience
* Ability to work with complete independence / autonomy and demonstrate initiative
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to create a culture of high performance
* Boldness. Ability to remove internal / external barriers
* Ability to network and form relationships. Expected to have a good internal network
* Strong negotiation, influencing and decision-making skills
* Takes ownership and mitigates issues and risks. With strong leadership skills in giving direction and making the correct call using data to evidence decision making and mitigate programme risks
* Great communicator of plans and delivery information. With strong skills in building the case for change and drawing on data and analytical techniques to gain commitment from business audiences
* Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills. Microsoft Project skills also desirable but not essential
* Expected to have attained an advanced project management qualification - Prince 2 Practitioner, MSP, APM RPP etc.
Experience you would be expected to have
* Experience as a Project Manager, delivering complex solutions. The value of delivery (Not contract) will typically have been between £5 Million and £20 Million but this should not be viewed as the deciding dimension of this role versus others.
* Experience of delivering a broad range of IT and network technology. Ideally this should be in a range of industry sectors.
* Expected to have attained an advanced project management qualification - Prince 2 Practitioner, MSP, APM RPP etc.
* Working with customers at in leadership roles (i.e. IT Manager, Programme Manager etc.).
* Financial tracking and management of a large programme.
* Creating Stakeholder management and Communication Plans.
* Manging significant risk.
* Knocking down internal barriers and issues that exist in other parts of the business.
* Building and managing teams.
* Experience of producing accurate and timely management information to support decision making.
