LA International Exhibiting at The NATO NITEC17 Industry Conference, Canada

For the sixth time, the NATO Communications and Information (NCI) Agency and AFCEA Europe, are partnering to bring you NITEC – The NCI Agency Industry Conference and AFCEA TechNet International. The conference and exhibition will take place from 24 to 26 April 2017 in Ottawa, Canada at the Westin Ottawa Hotel.

Held in cooperation with the Department of Defence, Canada, this event will host more than 800 high-level defence experts from across NATO, the Allied militaries, Industry and academia Including LA International's International Government & Defence Division.

Bringing together more than 500 high-level defence experts from across NATO, the Allied militaries, Industry and academia, NITEC17 will build on the success of NITEC16.

One of the main missions of the NCI Agency is the acquisition of advanced and state-of-the-art C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) capability – including cyber and missile defence – for the NATO Alliance and Nations. The responsibilities under this mission range from the procurement of commercially available communication and information technology products and services on an urgent, expedited basis to the procurement of complex major systems via International Competitive Bidding.

During NITEC17, the NCI Agency will present business opportunities worth 3 billion EUR.

The AFCEA TechNet International exhibition will provide attendees the opportunity to experience cutting edge technologies geared towards modern communication and information applications especially during conference breaks.

NATO Keynote: General Denis Mercier, NATO Supreme Allied Commander Transformation “We live in a very complex world, where the fast-paced evolution of threats and technology calls for different, more adaptable and flexible answers. In this context, a synergistic partnership between NATO and the civilian world that includes industry and academia, among others, is necessary to face contemporary and future challenges.

Industry Keynote: Mr Glen F Post, Chief Executive Officer and President of CenturyLink Significant cyber issues are impacting critical infrastructure providers and their customers on a global level. Innovative private sector leaders such as CenturyLink continue to develop strong partnerships and innovative products to assure the resiliency of our cyber ecosystem.

Panelists will address global threats of significance to NATO; why they require innovative responses; and how Industry can support NATO’s innovation efforts. 11:30-12:30 Panel 2: “Trends in the Defence Innovation Landscape” Innovation has become more global, more rapid, and more concentrated in the private sector, where more commercial technologies than ever before have military applications. Panelists will address these trends in depth; discuss how they are giving rise to new models of collaboration between defence organizations and Industry; and explore the implications for NATO.
