Job description

Entry Requirements
* Proven experience in designing and assuring secure architectures for high-risk, complex environments, including national-level infrastructure, sensitive data systems, and mission-critical applications.
* Comprehensive knowledge of government security standards and frameworks, including the NCSC CAF, ISO 27001, and other applicable HMG or sector-specific control sets.
* Strong ability to assess and respond to evolving cyber threats, translating threat intelligence into practical architectural controls across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises platforms.
* Demonstrated experience translating security and compliance requirements into enterprise-level architectural deliverables, ensuring alignment with strategic outcomes, risk appetite, and design governance processes.

Qualifications, Membership and Licences
* Industry-recognised qualification:
o ITIL foundation certification;
o UK Cyber Security Council Secure System Architecture & Design (or in progress).
* Membership of relevant professional bodies:
o UK Cyber Security Council (or in progress).
* Bachelor's degree in technology related subject such as Digital Communications, ideally advanced degree or equivalent experience (Innovation & Proposition).
* TOGAF certified or demonstrable evidence of using and applying with the ability to influence the enterprise architecture function
* Ability to direct and manage systems engineering activities across a range of technologies and environments.
* Understanding of the differing needs and capabilities of the stakeholders within the LE and HMG including how law enforcement acquires and uses information regarding the digital communications of target investigations.

Desirable Criteria
* The ability to stay up to date on technology trends and approaches.
* Can demonstrate and understanding of organisational objectives and external drivers, for example, legislation or financial constraints.
* The ability to design and document solutions so they can be implemented by the organisation.
* The ability to manage risks and decisions in a transparent way.
