Role based in Crawley OR Croydon OR Hove (Whichever is most convenient for you).
We have an excellent opportunity for a DevOps Engineer to join the team on a long term programme of work. You will be working with a global, blue-chip organisation, a true market leader.
*Responsibilities include deploying product updates, identifying production issues and implementing integrations that meet customer needs having solid background in software engineering and are familiar with Ruby or Python.
*Implement integrations requested by customers.
*Deploy updates and fixes.
*Provide Level 2 technical support.
*Build tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience.
*Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems.
*Perform root cause analysis for production errors.
*Investigate and resolve technical issues.
*Develop scripts to automate visualization.
*Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance.
*Creation of cookbooks for various products.
*Develop & maintain Infrastructure platform automation & support scripts.
*Development and maintenance of build or automation scripts using any CI, CD tools.
*Support in automation like environment provisioning, s/w patching, other infrastructure related activities.
*Perform activities required for monitoring and optimizing performance in order to reduce costs or improve service Levels.
*Proper stakeholder management.
*Must demonstrate professionalism to work in multi-supplier environment.
*Must have prior experience in working in application maintenance and support project. Should be aware of ITIL processes and willing to work on shifts.
Key Skills & Experience:
*Strong knowledge on configuration management tools like chef, puppet, Ansible.
*Creation of cookbooks using CHEF and ruby.
*Source code management tools like Github or similar.
*Strong knowledge on programming language tools like Ruby (Native), Python, shell.
*Fundamental concepts and technologies associated with Linux and Windows operating systems.
*Keen to explore various open source tools and use as customization.
*Good knowledge on AWS services like - AWS CLI, AWS Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, EC2, S3, Redshift etc.
*Overview of IaaC, IaaS, PaaS, iPaaS.
*Good analytical and communication skill Working knowledge of databases and SQL.
*Providing direct server support during various operations such as deployment and general production.
*Collaborating with developers to make sure new environments meet requirements and conform to best practices.
*Designing, implementing and testing agreed-upon infrastructures.
*Automating deployment of Linux applications, system configurations and security settings.
*Knowledge on basic DB administration (preferably SQL).
*Good in programming/scripting.
*Good to have knowledge of CI/CD tools like- Jenkins or similar.
*Hands on with code hosting platform like GitHub or similar.
