Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced IT Trainer to design, develop, and deliver high-quality IT training solutions to military personnel across a range of technical domains. The successful candidate will conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA), produce and deliver engaging classroom-based training, and ensure learners gain practical and theoretical competence in digital, hardware, software, and common applications. Familiarity with Defence or MOD environments is essential for contextualising training within military operations.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to identify learner requirements and gaps.
Design and develop modular, adaptable courseware tailored to Defence-specific IT environments.
Deliver face-to-face, classroom-based training across a spectrum of IT areas including:
Digital literacy
Operating systems (Windows, Linux)
Networking fundamentals
Hardware and peripherals
Software applications (Office 365, SharePoint, bespoke Defence systems)
Cybersecurity awareness
Evaluate training effectiveness and adjust content or methods accordingly.
Provide post-training support and follow-up to ensure knowledge retention and operational readiness.
Maintain accurate training records and provide feedback to stakeholders.
Liaise with technical teams, project managers, and Defence training leads to ensure course alignment with operational goals.
Essential Skills and Experience

Proven experience in IT training delivery, ideally in a military or Defence setting.
Strong understanding across a broad range of IT disciplines (hardware, software, digital, applications).
Experience delivering training to learners with varied levels of technical knowledge.
Competent in designing and delivering engaging, hands-on classroom training sessions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with uniformed personnel.
Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for a non-technical audience.
Desirable Qualifications

Training or education certifications (e.g. CompTIA CTT+, TAP, PTLLS/Level 3 Award in Education & Training).
Relevant IT certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified, ITIL).
Prior military service or direct experience training within Defence.
Familiarity with MOD training standards, JSP 822, or DSAT methodology.
Other Requirements

Eligible for or currently holding UK Security Clearance (SC or above).
Willingness to travel to various military sites
