
Role Overview
The ServiceNow Solutions Architect is responsible for designing, governing, and delivering scalable ServiceNow solutions that align with business objectives and enterprise architecture standards. This role serves as the technical authority across ServiceNow implementations, ensuring best practices, performance, security, and long-term platform sustainability.
The Solutions Architect partners closely with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, and integration teams to translate requirements into well-architected ServiceNow solutions while maintaining platform integrity and minimizing technical debt.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end architectural design of ServiceNow solutions across one or more modules (e.g., ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM, SecOps, GRC, SPM).
Define solution architecture that aligns with enterprise standards, security policies, and ServiceNow best practices.
Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical designs and implementation roadmaps.
Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership to development teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Own platform governance, including design reviews, customization standards, and upgrade readiness.
Design and oversee integrations between ServiceNow and external systems using REST, SOAP, MID Server, and event-based integrations.
Ensure optimal use of out-of-the-box ServiceNow capabilities while minimizing unnecessary customization.
Support platform upgrades, migrations, and module implementations with a focus on stability and performance.
Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize demand and align solutions with strategic business outcomes.
Produce and maintain architecture documentation, including solution designs, data models, and integration diagrams.
Identify risks, dependencies, and architectural trade-offs, providing clear recommendations to leadership.
Required Skills & Experience
Extensive hands-on experience designing and implementing ServiceNow solutions in enterprise environments.
Deep understanding of ServiceNow architecture, data model, CMDB, security model, and application framework.
Strong experience with at least one core ServiceNow product suite (e.g., ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM).
Proficiency in ServiceNow development concepts, including:
Flow Designer and Workflow
Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies
Script Includes and scoped applications
Experience designing and implementing integrations using REST/SOAP APIs and MID Servers.
Strong knowledge of platform performance optimization and upgrade-safe development practices.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
