Hybrid Working, 1-2 days on site in Brighton
*Data Strategy and Architecture - Be accountable for the data strategy development and implementation against the corporate strategy, ensuring it remains relevant, making the best use of data and compliance with all necessary regulations. Designing and maintaining a sound data architecture that supports regulatory objectives
*Leadership - Lead the specialist data teams including data governance, data quality, data architecture and data engineering to ensure activities and focus are aligned against regulatory and business objectives. Support the new Executive Director of Digital, Data and Technology on arrival and the design and instigation of the new Directorate.
*Assurance - Be responsible for the assurance of the data estate including the framework of internal control for data and implementation of data policies and procedures.
*Change - Lead data elements of the change portfolio. Business owner of the data platform ensuring that critical regulatory data is secure, visible and accessible to the staff.
*Data enablement - Oversight of the collection, storage, management, quality and protection of data. Delivery of operational data to regulatory functions. Senior stakeholder management to ensure understanding of data initiatives and data products/uptake of data use to embed a culture of best practice data use across all business areas.
*Data and analytical experience. An advanced degree in an analytical/data field and/or 5 years professional experience in the data sector. Experience of working with financial sector/pension/government data and demonstrable experience of applying theory and best practice in data management. Exceptional knowledge of the data sector and how it is transforming, data management, quality assurance mechanisms, data governance and records management.
*Collaboration and influence: You will be an effective relationship builder, with a proven track record of influencing effectively at all levels, including in environments where there are partnerships with competing/conflicting priorities. Ability to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the effective maintenance, control, and governance of data. You can manage stakeholder expectations and facilitate discussions about high risk and complexity even within constrained timescales.
*Strategic focus: Experience in defining and implementing strategy, policy and process for information management and records management, against corporate objectives. You will have experience of setting direction for data work programmes which directly support strategic organisational objectives, working across boundaries so that the right people are involved to deliver. Capability to ensure that the data strategy remains relevant to the business, is aligned to the data sector and enables the best use of data whilst complying with all necessary regulations.
*Project and Programme Management. Demonstrable experience of programme/project management and methodology. Experience on project boards, leading projects, and collaborating in transformation programmes. You know how to coach and lead teams in Agile and Lean practices (Desirable).
*People Leadership: You will be an engaging, open leader and people manager committed to building capability, coaching, and developing diverse staff groups to be high performing teams. You can solve and unblock issues within teams or departments. You understand the psychology of a team and have strong mediation skills.
